Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide occupational therapy services one day per week in an elementary school setting, serving students from kindergarten through sixth grade. This contract position offers an opportunity to conduct OT evaluations and deliver direct therapy to support students' educational and developmental needs.
Location:
- Sterling Heights, MI
- Services split between two elementary schools
Responsibilities:
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for students suspected of needing services
- Provide direct therapy interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate therapy goals into the educational environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure for the state of Michigan
- Experience providing therapy services within a school setting, preferably with K-6 students
- Strong skills in evaluating and treating pediatric populations with educational needs
- Ability to work independently during contracted hours and manage caseload efficiently
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
Duration and Hours:
- Contract position for the current school year (CSY)
- Approximately half to one full day per week
